Growing up, dating/living with/marrying/divorcing every wrong person possible, and not finding out that the reason your love life is such a train wreck is because you have ADHD.
For me, this became almost an integral part of my personality and how people saw me. I used to joke that if there was one unemployed, drug-addicted, criminally inclined asshat in a crowded room of wonderful, caring, loving men…is the only one that would interest me at all.
But I've regretted hurting them and the loss of closeness. And as well..of reminders...thier brains work in overtime and they get distracted easily.
Is there anyway to take an ADD/ADHD guy and make him into relationship material? It can be really annoying but knowing that they dont do it intentionally helps me alot. My way of dealing with it .to bring him back to the topic at hand. He too is bad at forgetting to call or getting to busy to remember anything..... So gentle nudges of reminders and bringing them back to the topics at hand etc.
